| 17th Century Forester’s Cottage | ||
|
The Cottage Lodge was constructed in 1650 from reclaimed ships timbers (from the Kings Fleet, at Bucklers Hard), hand made bricks and sand. It has been extended into a superb 12-bedroom B&B. You can experience the original building in the charming beamed Snug Bar or the Gillies Restaurant. The Forester’s Master Bedroom and Knightwood are the two original bedrooms. The Verderer’s Rest was added when the stables were brought into the building at the turn of the century. The Mills, Rhinefield, Bolderwood and Exbury were added in 1940. King William, Wilverley, Burley, Tom Hayter and Morant are the latest additions. |
