Tom Hayter Dog-friendly bedroom

Relax in this delightful and cosy ground floor room which takes pet dogs

Ground floor room pet-friendly accommodation

Make yourself at home in this ground floor double room with king-sized double bed. This room has its own entrance at the rear of the building and is built on the site of a Victorian stable block.

Luxuriate in the en suite bathroom which has a vaulted ceiling with skylight. Lounge in the patio garden, which has a table and chairs. This makes it an ideal room for pet dogs.

Dogs welcome! Pet-friendly room with garden

Bring your dog. We charge £10 a day, per dog because pet-friendly hotel rooms need painting a little more often than other rooms. We also ask that you pay for any damage your dog causes during its stay.

Your patio garden has an outside tap to wash dirty doggy paws. We put dog-friendly accommodation near to our small kitchen so we can hear if your dog is distressed while you’re at breakfast.

Wifi Free wi-fi internet access

  • Access free wifi in your hotel room at any time. Check our live download speeds here. We have some of the best mobile phone coverage in the New Forest, but mobile signal can be patchy in other parts of the National Park, check the network coverage here.

While you surf the internet, why not post pictures of your stay on Facebook or Instagram? You’ll find the free wifi password in your room when you check-in.

What’s in my room?

Your room has Smart TV, tea & coffee, in-room safe, and hairdryer. Iron and ironing board available. New Forest Berry’s cake, and fresh milk for tea/coffee on arrival.

The fresh bathroom has a bath with shower over with non-slip mat, toilet and towel rail; plus bath towels and organic Yellow Forest shampoo, conditioner, soap and hand lotion.

  • Special occasions

Celebrate an anniversary, birthday or romantic getaway ordering optional extras for your room such as champagne, wine, chocolates, flowers, congratulations banners, or silk rose petals on the bed.

How your New Forest hotel room got its name

Back in the 1900s, coal merchant Tom Hayter owned the house that eventually became Cottage Lodge hotel. His descendants and relatives still live in Brockenhurst village and in other parts of the New Forest.

All of Cottage Lodge hotel’s 16 bedrooms are named after places in the New Forest, or people associated with the area or the original building. Each room has its own design.

  • What you need to know about Brockenhurst, New Forest

The New Forest National Park is a beautiful area of Hampshire. Cottage Lodge is a small, eco-chic hotel in the heart of the village of Brockenhurst, and Lyndhurst, Beaulieu and Burley are only a few miles away.

Ponies and cattle can wander freely throughout the village. Watch out for them in New Forest villages and on the forest roads – the ponies have been known to wander right into Brockenhurst village shops.
